Seagate company yesterday presented the HDD series savvio 10K.4, which the producer considers as the most capacious and reliable in this segment. The elder model has 600 Gb volume, the rotation speed is 10 000 r/min and 16 mb buffer. Analogous model is produced with 450 Gb volume. Both can be completed by SAS interface with the capacity 6 Gbit/s in the two-port configuration or fiber channel interface with 4 Gbit/s capacity. Models with SAS interface support the function of data coding SED, which reliably protect information from unsanctioned access.  The most impressive characteristic of savvio of 10K.4 Is the high time of failure - it reaches 2 ml hours. The average annual index of HDD failure is improved by 20% in comparison with predecessors.
