MSI company described the possibilities of its motherboard P6N diamond on the base of chipset NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI almost immediately after its anoncement , this motherboard did not hurry to appear on the market. The fact is that MSI decided to develop the motherboard from its own design, and not to use the standard desing produced BY NVIDIA. As the basic of motherboard P6N diamond was in that company MSI planned to position the presence of four slots PCI express x16 and built in eight sound channel from creative sound blaster X -Fi Xtreme audio. Associate reported that the motherboard MSI P6N diamond must appear on the market during January on price of more than 200 Euro-. This can mean that for USA the price equivalents for this motherboard will cost more than $200, and this is completely predicted for product on the base of chipset nForce 680i SLI, which possesses original design. Four slots PCI express x16 of this motherboard are capable to work in one of two combinations: PCI express x8 + PCI express x8 + PCI express x16 + PCI express x8; PCI express x16 + PCI express x16 + PCI express x8. This makes possible to exploit up to four video card simultaneously. Standard motherboards on the base of chipset nForce 680i SLI were equipped with three slots PCI express x16, two of which work at fulll speed, and the third was limited to the regime PCI express x8. The motherboard MSI P6N diamond has the regime of compatability with a similar combination of slots PCI express x16. The passive cooling system has layout customary for many motherboards - radiators of north and south bridges are connected by thermal tube, it connects the radiator of north bridge with the radiator of the power subsystem .
