AMD company  today presented the server processors opteron 61xx, which have from eight to twelve cores. Earlier they were known to us under the code designation magny-Cours. The announcement of  maranello platform symbolized the passage of server solutions AMD to the use DDR- 3 memories, in this case we deal with four-channel memory type DDR 3-1333. Each processor is capable to support up to 12 joints DIMM. The same processors can be used in both system types (single and dual socket). Motherbord's class maranello must assure compatibility with the future processors, which have bulldozer architecture.   Here is the socket g34: Here is the characteristics and official prices of magny-Cours processors: Opteron 6176 SE (12 cores, 2.3 GHz, 105 W) - > $1386; Opteron 6174 (12 cores, 2.2 GHz, 80 W) - > $1165; Opteron 6172 (12 cores, 2.1 GHz, 80 W) - > $989; Opteron 6168 (12 cores, 1.9 GHz, 80 W) - > $744; Opteron 6164 HE (12 cores, 1.7 GHz, 65 W) - > $744; Opteron 6136 (8 cores, 2.4 GHz, 80 W) - > $744; Opteron 6134 (8 cores, 2.3 GHz, 80 W) - > $523; Opteron 6128 (8 cores, 2.0 GHz, 80 W) - > $263; Opteron 6128 HE (8 cores, 2.0 GHz, 65 W) - > $523; Opteron 6124 HE (8 cores, 1.8 GHz, 65 W) - > $455. In the beginning of May AMD will present the processors lisbon  socket c32, which will bring DDR- 3 supports in the server segment.  The memory controller in this case will be dual-channel. Opteron 4186 (2.9 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4184 (2.8 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4180 (2.6 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4130 (2.6 GHz, four cores); Opteron 4122 (2.2 GHz, four cores); Opteron 4176 HE (2.4 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4174 HE (2.3 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4170 HE (2.1 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4164 EE (1.8 GHz, six cores); Opteron 4162 EE (1.7 GHz, six cores).
