AMD today introduced a new series of server processors with low power consumption. AMD Opteron X, became the first representatives of the model, previously known under the symbol Kyoto. According to AMD, they are the most energy efficient processors on small x86-compatible core. Models X1150 and X2150 easily outperform Intel Atom processors in the basic performance tests and on many key parameters. They have twice as many cores and cache memory in the second level higher computing performance and throughput of the memory system, an improved architecture of the assembly line, a higher degree of integration and support four times more memory (up to 32GB).
Model AMD Opteron X2150 has a TDP 11-22 W, the first is single-chip hybrid server system that combined on a single chip CPU, GPU and high-speed bus. GPU AMD Radeon HD 8000 with 128 cores clocked at 266-600 MHz ."Model AMD Opteron X1150 consumes only 9-17 watts and has no built-in GPU.
The main areas of processors application called web applications and clouds, from the processing of large volumes of data and images, and ending with the delivery of multimedia content and hosting.
Processors have four 64-bit core Jaguar. In the case of X1150 CPU maximum frequency is 2 GHz, X2150 - 1,9 GHz. Memory Interface DDR3 - 64-bit with ECC support and frequencies up to 1600 MHz. Built-in input-output lines include eight PCIe Gen 2, eight ports USB 2.0, two ports USB 3.0, video output DisplayPort, VGA, HDMI, two SATA 6 Gb / s.
The processors are available in packages of type FT3 BGA size 24,5 x 24,5 mm. They are available now, priced at $ 99 and $ 64 a model of AMD Opteron X2150 and X1150, respectively.
