AMD company recently reported some characteristics of 32 nm processors with bulldozer architecture. 8 core crystal will have a smaller area in comparison with the present six-core processors, produced on 45 nm technology. Each dual core module will obtain 2 mb divided cache in the second level, the cache in the third level with 8 mb volume will be divided between several dual blocks. The memory controller not only support faster modules, but also will increase its productivity.
Some further characteristics of bulldozer processors will appear in the conference ISSCC 2011, which will pass from 20 to 24 February following year. AMD Company intends to describe the 8 cores 32 nm processors, which will consist of four dual core modules. Each module will have the area 30,9 sq. mm approximately 213 mln. transistors, default voltage will lie within the limits from 0.8 to 1.3 v.
The frequency of dual core module can exceed 3.5 GHz. .
The cache in the third level is discussed in separate report. Eight megas-byte will be divided by four blocks on 2 mb. As we could be convinced, this will allow AMD to release the processors zambezi with the third cache level : 4 mb. This processor will work at frequencies more than 2.4 GHz with 1.1 v.
