At the end of November we reported, that aSRock company, prepares the announcement of p67 transformer motherboard, which combines the chipset intel p67 and processor LGA 1156. This chipset is formally intended for LGA 1155.
For the platform LGA 1156 new chipset brings not so many advantages. ASRock considers the possibility of SATA-600 and USB 3.0 controllers connection to the bus PCI express 2.0, but not slower PCI express 1.0 as in case with Intel p55 as important feature. This increase the capacity with the simultaneous connection of several devices. Furthermore, the chipset Intel p67 supports two ports SATA-600.
Due to the limitations from the side of chipset intel p67 this motherboard does not support the dual core processors LGA 1156, but wonderfully works with four core processors in the analogous design concept.
The support of PCI bus on this motherboard ensures the special microcircuit aSMedia, as USB 3.0 controller is used etronTech, and JMB363 chip add supports to IDE and eSATA ports. Related Products :
