Today AMD company finally showed the first official demonstration of Zambezi processors performance - representatives of desktop chip, built on Bulldozer architecture .
Unknown eight-processor model AMD FX met in action an unknown model Quad Intel Core i5 in the program Handbrake. Within 5 minutes the subjects had to convert videos to H.264 format standard definition (SD). AMD FX was able to show the average result of 223 frames per second, while Core i5 issued only 188 frames per second. According to AMD, both tested systems will be comparable in value.
The second measure was made in AMD beloved computer game DiRT 3. Processors were joined with a couple of graphics cards Radeon HD 6970 in CrossFire regime ; Intel Core i7-980X took the place of Core i5 processor. According to the results , Intel system at 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution showed the average number of frames per second 80.9; AMD FX is average was about two frames per second faster, with the result of 82.8. However, at similar resolution hardly the CPU play a role in the AVG FPS , and a small difference in average fps values can be attributed to many different factors, not just the CPU efficiency .
