Lithium-ion batteries are widespread, ranging from hours to electric vehicles. Scientists from the University of California, Berkeley, shared their achievements in this field. The University, will soon enhance the performance of batteries, the revolution will not happen, but consumer will be satisfied definitely.
The Secret - the application of new conductive polymer, which coats the silica particles. These particles are expanded in the accumulation of charge and taper at the discharge. Previously used thermoplastics such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), eventually lost their properties because of charge cycles disrupted relationships within the anode, and it would significantly shorten the battery capacity. Polymer does not lose its properties, and prototypes of batteries with its application show their fill performance after a year of stress testing with multiple recharging . In addition, the anode with a given polymer is capable of holding up to 8 times greater than lithium, which increases the capacity of the battery.
According to the developers, materials needed to produce the described batteries are inexpensive. Related Products :
