In 2  February, AMD spent the day meeting with financial analysts, which summarizes the new strategies and concepts, as well as openly spoke about the new processors and graphics solutions.   Let's start with the productive part of the desktop segment.  Vishera : in the second half this year, AMD processors are going to present the class with FX cores (from 4 to 8 pieces), using an improved architecture Piledriver.  Immediately, we emphasize that the computational core in this case will be improved compared with Piledriver first generation that will be part of hybrid processor Trinity, advertised closer to the middle of this year. Processors Vishera will be released on 32 nm technology, and will be compatible with existing motherboards equipped with socket Socket AM3 +.  Compared with Bulldozer, promised an improved frequency potential, higher performance per clock cycle, a new commands set, improvements in DDR3 memory support and a new version of Turbo Core.  Unfortunately, in 2013 to replace Vishera nothing is planned - at least for now, and with respect to the first half of the year. In the following year, Vishera processors must be slightly updated, but further details AMD did not reported. Hybrid processors Trinity can combine up to four cores with Piledriver graphics core with DirectX 11 support.  Increase in the speed of processing cores with respect to Llano is estimated at 25%, but the graphics system performance gain is up to 50%  .  The ratio of performance and power consumption should improve compared to Llano by up to two times. The announcement of Trinity processors will take place closer to the middle of 2012.  And a version for  ultrathin notebooks will be offered , which will have a design concept BGA and TDP level not more than 17 w . This year, the platform Brazos 2.0 will offer high performance computing and graphical component, increased battery life, improved video processing technology support Turbo Core.  Announcement of the platform is planned in the current semester. In 2013, as change to Trinity must come the hybrid processors Kaveri, which will be released on 28 nm technology.  From two to four cores with the Steamroller architecture will be combined with a graphics core generation GCN (the first time, the architecture has been proposed in Radeon HD 7970). According to AMD representatives , Kaveri will be the first hybrid processors, providing performance at the level of teraflops.  It support HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) - graphics system will use the memory  system along with the cores.  Already in 2012 the graphics core will have access to the memory used by the cores.  In 2014, AMD graphics solutions will be able to participate more actively in accelerating the computation.   In the mobile segment as change to the architecture Bobcat in 2013, will come Jaguar.  Processors Kabini, produced on 28 nm technology, will combine from two to four cores with the  graphics system class GCN. Speaking about the development of mobile processors, AMD, we should mention about the upcoming appearance in the second half  this year of Hondo processors, designed for tablets.  With one or two cores with the architecture Bobcat and graphics engine with support for DirectX 11, they will be satisfied with TDP level not more than 4.5 w . In 2013, the older versions of mobile AMD processors will feature models,  Kaveri and Kabini, Hondo will replace the 28 nm processor Temash.  It will get one or two cores and graphics subsystem GCN.  Processors  Kabini and Temash will not use south bridge chip - all the necessary functionality will be integrated into the processor. If we talk about the server segment, then AMD has decided to remove Terramar and Sepang .  Instead of these processors, which were held 10-20 cores with Bulldozer architecture , this year will be presented processors with 16 cores generation Piledriver, Seoul with 6-8 cores Piledriver and Delhi with 4-8 core Piledriver.  The first will be a constructive response to Socket G34, second - Socket C32, third - Socket AM3 +.  In other words, the structural continuity with their predecessors will be saved.   Graphical solution of Sea Islands, which next year will offer a new architecture and deeper integration into the HSA, AMD representatives mentioned in only one slide.  These graphics solutions will be released on 28 nm technology. AMD representatives have repeatedly hinted at the possibility of using ARM architecture in their products.
