The graphics core Haswell promises to add a 50% performance to the graphics processors Ivy Bridge, will provide support for DirectX 11.1 and OpenCL 1.2. Of course, it support PCI Express 3.0, but the accompanying chipset Lynx Point supports only PCI Express 2.0. Haswell memory controller supports up to four modules DDR3 (1.5 V) or DDR3L (1.35 in) operating in DDR3-1600. Intel will improve the speed of instruction set AES-NI and AVX. Haswell processors will have a fully integrated voltage regulator, provides better overclocking potential. Haswell graphics core will support the technology to create autostereoscopic image AS3D.
Haswell graphics core will support up to three independent displays at the same time (HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort, DVI). Analog Output D-Sub (VGA) will be maintained with the assistance of chipset Lynx Point. This same chipset will support USB 3.0 and SATA-600.
It is noteworthy that among the 22 nm processors will be Haswell models with TDP level not more than 95 watts, although their 22 nm predecessors Ivy Bridge are going to limit TDP value not more than 77 w .
In the desktop segment in 2013-2014 the dominant platform will be LGA 1150. This could mean that Haswell processors successors , which will be released in 2014, will have to work in a motherboard with this socket type .
