The EPYC server architectures with the Zen architecture, which were previously known under the code name Naples (Naples), should survive the last phase of the announcement in June this year, although their mass availability can only be spoken in the second half of the year. This is the specificity of the server segment - the inertness of AMD's partners is conditioned by the desire to give the market products that do not need constant improvement during the operation phase of the client.
At a meeting with analysts, AMD representatives voiced the names of future server-class processors. It is curious that if for consumer processors with Zen architecture there is a transition to a more advanced version of 14-nm technology, then Naples will not undergo such a modernization. Apparently, in the period until 2019-2020 they will give way to 7-nm processors Rome with the architecture of Zen 2, and by 2020 Milan processors with the Zen 3 architecture will be released, which will be manufactured
according to the advanced version of the 7-nm process technology.
For comparison, you can take a second look at AMD's plans for consumer-grade processors.
