At the event, International Solid-State Circuits Conference , Intel for the first time started talking about the first 22nm products.
So, Ivy Bridge will be the first processors manufactured on 22nm technology with transistors, Tri-Gate. Intel plans to release at least four different crystals, the most advanced version which has 1.4 billion transistors with an area of 160 square millimeters. The processor has on-board 8 MB cache in the third level, 20 lines PCI Express 3.0, memory controller, graphics engine and a controller with support for DisplayPort output to three independent screen.
The engineers who worked on the design of crystal, paid much attention to the modularity, which will allow to create different versions of processors without any extra material and time costs.
In particular, the crystal structure is shown in the figure above, can be cut in order to reduce the number of cores or GPU execution units . The available options are shown in the diagram below.
Ivy Bridge processors will be the first in the history of Intel's energy-efficient storage that implements DDR3L with a rated voltage 1.35 volts, and the effective frequency of 1600 MHz (1.6 billion transactions per second).
The frequency of cores and graphics can be changed in increments of 100 and 50 MHz, respectively. Total processor supports five levels of power and has 180 synchronous zones. The controller of PCI Express is characterized by a 32 levels of gain control signal and a transmitter with a digital FIR filter with 3 denominator . The controller is also capable of analyzing digital signal to eliminate distortions of transmitted data . Related Products :
