LucidLogix became famous due to the technology Hydra Engine, which allows to combine in a heterogeneous system video cards from different producer. The questionable practical use of Hydra Engine forced LucidLogix to abandon further development of Hydra in favor of software solutions such as Virtu, MVP, XLR8 and VGWare.
The new version of MVP technology was demonstrated during IDF 2011. Without going into details, as described in the technical documentation , MVP includes optimization algorithms rendering pipeline of the GPU. The software combines a discrete graphics card and integrated graphics core in the processor, the task is to predict what will be the frame x 1 during the training, x. Based on these results, the discrete GPU removes repetitive operations from the rendering pipeline. This function is called HyperFormance and, according to Lucid, not only can increase the speed of GPU in games by 30-70%, but also ensure a comfortable gameplay, even if the card is not able to give a reasonable number of frames per second.
Despite the stated maximum of 70%, some journalists who managed to try out the MVP in fact are talking about a fivefold increase in the number of frames per second, which can be described as a miracle. But, now let us pass to the disappointment, the growth of FPS is not real. When the mode HyperFormance FPS is enabled , Fraps program can display values greater than 600, but the application takes into account those staff who are preparing partially or completely on the screen without re-rendering process.
Lucid cares about the effectiveness of computing resources use, employing an integrated graphics core and saves directly involved in rendering GPU from unnecessary work. Related Products :
