According to our associates, Dell PC working under Linux will be on sale on Thursday May 24, 2007. This information is obtained from Dell employee, which contacted a Linux specialized site. As envisaged, Ubuntu distribution will be proposed, with models E520 (dual core low end), XPS 410 (multimedia dedicated) and Inspiron 1505 (laptop with 15 inches screen). Most drivers will be in open source, but some will be closed (in particular Wi-Fi cards). Dell will not install codecs requiring a paid licence , like MPEG-2 | ||
