Analytical agency Jon Peddie Research has pleased fans of graphic solutions with new report, which now includes not only the results of desktop and mobile graphics sales (including integrated chipsets and hybrid processors), but graphics for embedded systems and industrial computers, and graphics system x86- compatible processors used in tablets.
Speaking directly to the discrete graphics solutions, in the third quarter, sales volume increased by 4.6% compared to the second quarter, but fell by 5.2% compared to the same period last year. In 2016, as experts predict, the average annual growth rate in sales of discrete graphics will remain at 2.6%, and the graphics in general - at 3.6%.
Graphics market as a whole for the quarter was lowered by 4.3% in annual terms - by 13.3%. In the third quarter, sales of graphics solutions decreased by 1.5%, and sales of computers grew by 0.9%.
AMD lost in the supply volume of hybrid processors 30% for the quarter in the desktop segment and 4.7% in laptops. Overall shipments of graphics solutions AMD were down by 10.7% for the quarter, and its market share fell from 22.7% to 21.2%. In the third quarter last year, AMD's market share was equal to 23%.
Intel has reduced the volume of graphics solutions sales by 8% for the quarter, market share declined from 62.2% to 59.8%. A year ago the figure was 60.3%. Intel processors with integrated graphics for the quarter lost 7% of sales in the desktop segment, the mobile - 8.6%.
NVIDIA comes on all fronts. Delivery of discrete graphics for the quarter increased by 28.3% in the desktop segment, 12% in the mobile segment. Graphics NVIDIA overall sales volumes grew by 19.6%. Market share rose from 14.8% to 18.5% for the quarter, a year earlier, it was equal to 16.1%.
Matrox lost in delivery volumes for the quarter 20%, VIA/S3 - 10%.
