If Jon Peddie Research statistics spoke mostly about AMD success in the desktop segment of hybrid processors, Mercury Research experts have made a different picture for the second quarter. They divided into three groups statistics: graphical solutions as a whole, the discrete desktop graphics and discrete mobile graphics. Intel processor giant now controls 70.1% of the graphic market. NVIDIA claims a 15.7% market share in general, with figures for 2014 compared with a year even declined slightly. Finally, AMD shrank to 14%, while a year ago the company had a 18% market share.
Graphics market for personal computers in the second quarter declined by 8% compared with the previous quarter, and once by 21% compared with the second quarter last year. Demand for low-cost discrete graphics reduced, but gamers put records at an average price of purchased video. At the same time the average number of GPUs in terms of a single PC is reduced compared to previous periods.
Currently AMD company owns 34.6% of the market of mobile discrete graphics. Nevertheless, the general trend is that fewer and fewer number of laptops using discrete graphics solutions, content with integrated graphics. Related Products :
