Amimon now offers third-party companies to use WHDI in their designs in exchange for royalties. Standard already provides wireless transmission of high definition video, work on implementing support Ultra HD resolution and increase the distance at which the signal is transmitted.
The developers hope that third-party companies integrate WHDI support in its chipsets. The technology can be adapted to use in mobile devices, consumer electronics and personal computers. At January's CES 2013 the company intends to demonstrate wireless transmission of video on the touch screen systems running Windows 8.
