An international team of scientists, led by experts from the University of Bristol (UK) and Queensland (Australia), has demonstrated a new quantum algorithm that accurately defined performed calculations . Previously, to perform transformations quantum systems required in advance to know the answer, but now experts managed to perform a complete cycle of calculations without any simplifications. The developed algorithm can be taken as the basis of real quantum computing, and it is able to exponentially accelerate the solution of problems in the decomposition of numbers into primes and solving systems of equations by brute force.
Director of the Centre of Quantum Photonics Bristol University - Professor Jeremy O'Brien (Jeremy O `Brian) emphasized the importance of the work done and said that before the execution of applications related to quantum metrology and quantum simulation was just one step. But these tools will allow in the near future to transfer computing to a new, previously unattainable level. Related Products :
