This week there was another event that is worth mentioning. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix - both the world's largest manufacturer of computer memory - have signed a broad cross-licensing agreement for a period of three years. Details of the transaction are not known, and the representatives of the companies declined to discuss details of the contract.
At the same time, it is worth mentioning that Samsung and SK Hynix never appeared in public debates about the mutual claims to the development of a competitor. All questions are always solved out of court. Analysts believe that this could be an example to all. Instead of arguing in court about the primacy of one or another development, the company could spend the saved time and money to better use, having moved the industry even further forward. This, by the way, say in SK Hynix and Samsung. Exchange of patents will save time and resources for other development.
It should be borne in mind that in the end of August, we are waiting for the final takeover of the Japanese manufacturer Micron memory - Elpida company . Now in the DRAM market Samsung holds about 40%, and the company SK Hynix - 20%. The share of Micron-Elpida will be up to 40% of the computer's memory .
