We already talked in previous news about AMD company to present opteron processors ( generation K8 ) with 3.2 GHz frequency , and also to reduce the prices of other processors server class. It is completely obvious that all these changes will take place before the announcement of barcelona generation processors , and the models from previous generation with 3.2 GHz frequency are called to satisfy demand from the side of those users, who do not want or cannot purchase barcelona processors . The most serious reductions occurred in the so-called opteron processors first generation, which have socket 940 or Socket 939 , and supporting DDR1 memory.  For Opteron processors with DDR-2 support socket F , AMD also lowered the prices :  We note that opteron 1xxx processors socket AM2 has new processor : opteron 1222 (3.0 GHz) with TDP level not more than 95 W.  Obviously, the prices Of barcelona processors will begin from $873 and $2149.  Prices of the surviving opteron processors socket 940 were lowered generously. Now we wait for announcement of barcelona processors .
