The code name Tylersburg is one name of platforms, intended for work with intel processors , based on nehalem architecture ( following generation) , which will release in the second-half 2008 , within the 45 nm technical process. Associates reported that intel company already has the first available models tylersburg, and under this name we have the chipset class high-end for desktop processors nehalem generation . It will be released on 65 nm technology, using the advanced energy-saving technologies. In particular, it will consume two times less energy in comparison with predecessor in rest state . Tylersburg speed level will also exceeds developers expectations . The number of lines PCI express in this chipset will exceed six pieces. As is known, the chipset series eaglelake already will not support PCI in the second quarter 2008, and tylersburg chipset will continue in this way. According to the information of our associates, Intel representatives are assured in superiority of their 45 nm processors over AMD competing processors ( phenom generations and Barcelona ) , but in some servers benchmark barcelona can be faster than Harpertown. | if you have already core 2 duo or quad then it is better to wait for NEHALEM .
Penryn is the cuurent core 2 architecture with 45 nm and sse4 . So there is not much improvement .
Intel stated that NEHALEM will about twice (or more) faster than Penryn .
But here NEHALEM will be expansive and it will require new motherboard. |
