Interbranch organization Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) issued a press release in which it announced the adoption of the next version standard specifications of DisplayPort, this time - version 1.3 (previous version of the standard - 1.2a). The main achievement in the development of the new version is to increase the capacity to 25.92 Gb / s to 32.4 Gb / s. The flow of such capacity will be enough to transmit uncompressed video with a resolution of 5K (5120 x 2880 pixels). Each of the four lines interface DisplayPort 1.3 increased its data rate by 50% - to the level of 8.1 Gbit / s.
High speed interface will help to realize the function of multi-streaming video / audio data. In the Multi-Stream port DisplayPort 1.3 can connect two monitors with a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) . The new specifications are focused on digital TV with a further increase in quality to 8K. And all this will necessarily be protected from copying, which includes support for HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control).
Above we noted that the connection UHD-monitor will be enough to interface the two lines of four. The remaining two will be to put any interface, up to compatibility with interfaces AMD DockPort or Intel Thunderbolt. Related Products :
