The long-awaited meeting with AMD representatives took place yesterday, and journalists were able to obtain statements from the respective presentations, and a lot of useful information. We decided to start a regular news about AMD and changes in the concept of hybrid processor Fusion, which was  recently attributed to the use of processor core Bulldozer with a new generation of progressive architecture. According to AMD representatives , now Fusion will take the processor generation Stars, which was the first born among Phenom. The only difference is that for the first generation Fusion processor will integrate a graphic core and it will be produced on a monolithic crystal using 45 nm technology with SOI. Hybrid processor-conceived new acronym - APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). First such processor, code-named Swift will appear in the second half of 2009, in the mobile segment, and will join the mobile platform Shrike. It will contain two or three homogeneous processor core, graphical core,  memory controller with DDR-3 support  ,  Socket FS1. There is no architectural changes , AMD is going simply  to enhance the effectiveness of processor and graphic core command by reducing the distance between them. In future, hybrid processors will combine more heterogeneous core that can effectively accelerate relevant tasks. AMD did not explain the exact performance level of the integrated graphical core.  Here AMD note that dual core Radeon HD 3870 X2 (R680) will appear in the first quarter 2008 ( high-end segment ). Note that AMD desire to use existing design to create the first hybrid processor . In 2008, the company is going to reduce  the costs of research and development. �he share will be reduced : from the current 29% to 25-28%. Administrative and marketing costs will be also lowered. AMD will relies on cooperation with IBM, TSMC and Chartered, which shared the introduction of new technological processes.   Related Products :

	first off i like the idea .. although does this mean the video card is obsolete or needs to be redesigned? and what about all the monster memory on the videocards now .. i dont want shared memory I would rather it be dedicated... even if that means extra slots on the motherboard marked as \"vidmem\"... or is this going to be exclusivly for laptops due to size / weight..
