Today, we reported that the Samsung optimizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 820 for use in its new flagship. In addition to the on-chip version of Qualcomm South Korean company will launch two more variants of Galaxy S7 on their own processors. The base of one of them will fall Exynos 8890 platform, also known under the code name M1 or Mongoose.
According to sources, Samsung will begin mass production for Exynos 8890 Galaxy S7 in December 2015. It is, however, expected, given that the debut of the new flagship is scheduled for January 2016. Exynos 8890 will be the first processor, which will include the core, designed by Samsung. The Korean company will no longer use the architecture ARM, which is now used in all chip family Exynos.
The processor cores with their own will allow Samsung to gain competitive advantage and take the semiconductor market on a par with Intel, Apple, Qualcomm, AMD and ARM. In addition, the company will be able to cut costs and better optimize the chips for its smartphones.
