Gigabyte has introduced a motherboard GA-X170-WS ECC, which is primarily focused on the use of the composition of high-end workstations based on Intel Skylake generation processors in LGA 1151.
Novelty is based on the Intel C236 chipset and supports both server Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 processors have with conventional desktop Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron. Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X170-WS ECC has four slots for DDR4-2133 memory modules totaling up to 64 GB. An important feature of novelty is the support of RAM with error correction (ECC).
Another very important feature of the motherboard Gigabyte GA-X170-WS ECC is the presence of an external clock Turbo B-Clock, which allows to overclock the CPU by increasing the frequency of BCLK. This generator allows you to set the BCLK frequency range from 90 MHz to 500 MHz in steps of 1 MHz.
A set of expansion slots includes three connectors PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (x16 / x8 / x4), one PCI-Express 3.0 x1, and two regular PCI. This motherboard supports AMD CrossFireX bundles of two or three graphics cards and NVIDIA SLI dual-card. For the connection there is one connector M.2 and u.2, four ports SATA 3.0 storage devices and two connectors SATA Express, which are formed of four ordinary SATA. For network connections to the Gigabyte GA-X170-WS ECC meet Intel I210-AT controllers and I219LM, but for the sound responds codec Realtek ALC1150.
