Since LGA 775 platform will form the major portion of Intel production up to 2010, This company was forced to announce new models penryn generation . Yesterday Intel presented three new processors LGA 775.
Let us thus, examine those processors :
- Core 2 Quad q8300 (2.5 GHz) - > 45 nm, four core, 2 X 2 MB cache, 1333 MHz bus, $224;
- Core 2 Duo e5300 (2.6 GHz) - > 45 nm, two cores, 2 MB cache, 800 MHz bus, $86;
- Celeron e1500 (2.2 GHz) - > 65 nm, two cores, 512 KB cache, 800 MHz bus, $53.
Note that the dual core Celeron e1500 (2.2 GHz) will be released on the old 65 NM technical process. The prices of existing processors yesterday did not change , Now , Core 2 Duo e5300 (2.6 GHz) is only $2 more expensive than Core 2 Duo e5200 (2.5 GHz). However, the cost Of celeron e1500 (2.2 GHz) is equal to the price Of celeron e1400 (2.0 GHz).
Simultaneously Intel cleaned some obsolete processors models from its Price- list. For example, the four core 45 NM processor core 2 Quad with 2.66 GHz frequency now exists only in the Q9400 version , which use only 2 X 3 Mb cache in the second level. ).
Intel also removed the processor core 2 Quad Q6700 (2.66 GHz), which was released on 65 NM technology. Yes even the processor core 2 Quad q6600 (2.4 GHz) will be removed soon : its deliveries will cease in the first quarter 2009.
Intel removed from the Price- list the dual core processors with duplicating prices and frequencies: Core 2 Duo e8200 (2.66 GHz) and Core 2 Duo e8190 (2.66 GHz). Related Products :
