In this month we already reported, that western digital company was ready to begin the deliveries of hard disks with 2TB volume , which has four magnetic plate on 500 GB volume each. The official announcement of corresponding HDD series caviar green took place only today. The hard disk model WD20EADS has the volume 2048 GB and 32 Mb buffer, it uses the  SATA-300 interface, and the technology intelliPower which change the rotation speed from 5400 to 7200 rp/Min in order to reach a considerable electric power saving and worthy speed. During the reading and writing operations, this hard disk consumes 7,4 W, in the quiescent conditions - only 4,0 W. According to the estimations of analysts, about 10% of newly bought hard disks have a volume not less than 1 Tb. The recommended retail price of  two-tera-byte HDD from Western digital will be $299.
