New technological process does not always bring new architecture, and here as clear example can serve Intel company strategy . Each processor architecture in this case is released in two sequential technical process steps .
Recently, AMD representatives stated that the mastery of 32 nm technical process will start in the middle of 2010, and in the fourth quarter the company will release series 32 nm processors.
AMD explained, that the first processors models bulldozer generation will be released at the end of 2010, and the mass production will start only in 2011. Thus, the first 32 nm processors AMD will not for sure relate to bulldozer architecture . Among 32 nm processors with bulldozer architecture there will be the first AMD processors with the integrated graphic core, for example, the processors ontario, which will find use in the segment of inexpensive notebooks.
The first models bulldozer processors with SSE5 commands support must appear then in the next year.
Let us recall, in 2007, when appeared the first information about Bulldozer, AMD hoped to release the first models on the new architecture in 2009 within the 45 nm standards. Later this plan was corrected, since AMD decided to use the more progressive, 32-nm technical process. First Bulldozer, will get the code name orochi, ( deneb successor ). It will have more than four cores, integrated DDR3 memory controller and more than 8 MB cache in the third level. Related Products :
