On this week AMD reported about its intentions to announce in the first quarter following year the 45 nm processors series opteron 6000 (Magny-Cours), which have eight or twelve cores. These processors will require the use of DDR- 3 memory and new motherboard with socket G34.
Associate reports, AMD company already has the available operational models processors opteron 6000 with twelve cores.  The Windows tasks manager demonstrates the presence of 48 cores. In spite of design concept change , the platform socket g34 possesses a good update potential - in 2011 it will be able to accept 32 nm processors interlagos with the quantity of core from 12 to 16 pieces.
