The eSATA interface was a good idea, since it allows to connect to the motherboard device with serial ATA interface externally. In this case peripheral devices with eSATA interface required additional power, which was usually ensured by the USB port and corresponding cable, or special power unit.
MSI Company began to equip its motherboard with power eSATA port, which already obtains power from the USB bus.  Conveniences in this diagram are obvious: to the peripheral device with eSATA interface special cables are not now necessary.
The port power eSATA can be revealed on MSI 790FX-GD70, which supports AMD AM3 processors . Related Products : | ||
