For future multicore desktop systems, there was contradictory rumors. From one side, for the platform LGA 1366 and chipset Intel x58 in first half 2010 was prepared 32 nm processors gulftown with six cores on one crystal. From other sides, some associate noted the possibility of using the 8 core processors nehalem-EX in the expensive desktop systems.
Associates acknowledged that Intel will revive the skulltrail platform. Prior to the end of this year, some computer producers will actually propose gaming desktop systems on base of two 8 core processors nehalem-EX. In first half 2010 will appear the more accessible solutions on base of 32 six-core processors gulftown LGA 1366, which can work in pair.
Each processor nehalem-EX will have eight cores, 24 MB cache in the third level and support four-channel memory. Each processor gulftown will obtain six cores, 12 MB cache in the third level and three-channel memory organization .
