HP digital cameras
THE US Consumer Product Safety Commission said HP has warned 700,000 Photosmart R707 digicams pose a fire risk when they’re connected to an AC adaptor or docking station.
No injuries have been reported, but there is a report of one camera catching fire. The cameras were sold between August 2004 and April 2006 and sold for between $250 and $400.
Customers are warned to stop using the cameras while HP said there’s a firmware update to prevent the camera applying a charge to a non-rechargeable battery.
The firmware download is available from the HP web site at hp.com
