In the beginning of June AMD company has made a decision to stop producing dual core processors of models Athlon 64 X2 with 2 ghz and 1 Mb cache. Versions with 2 ghz and 512 kb cache have smaller core area , they can be more released , and it will be more cheaply managed. In conditions of price war with Intel amd changed its decision to offer with two processor with core and 2 ghz with 1 Mbcache , and this should be applayed to family Athlon 64 FX, or to family Opteron. In following year such processors can appear in the form of senior models Athlon 64 X2 with 0.065 microns core and they will not replace them by versions with higher frequency and 2 ghz and 512 kb cache As you can see, the prices for processors Athlon 64 X2 4800 +, Athlon 64 X2 4400 + and Athlon 64 X2 4000 + have decreased by 43-53 %, and now they are not beaten out from the common picture.
