Associates report to us  about their experiment on overclock of  processor kentsfield with the use of liquid nitrogen. All described action occurred in Saint Petersburg, on the exhibition HIT 2006. The readers and overclockers follow the results of overclock with different processors with the use of liquid nitrogen. However, practically all similar experiments until now were conducted beyond the limits.   Recently was announced the exhibition home interactive technologies 2006, which passed in the territory OF TSVZ  in Saint Petersburg. The configuration of overclock comprised the following parts: Engineering model processor intel core 2 Extreme QX6700, stepping B3; Motherboard eVGA on the base of chipset NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI; Memory 2x1 Gb kingston Hyper- X PC8500; Video card NVIDIA geForce 8800 GTX; Power units hiper Type- R 730 W and Tagan 1100 W. For the functional test and reliability, was used the prototype of the system freon cooling phaseCool. With the aid freon the processor was successfully overclocked to the frequency of 3733 MHz (regular frequency was 266 X 10 = 2660 MHz). For this multiplier of processor was increased to 14x, and the vcore voltage increased to 1.65 v. the temperature of vaporizer did not rise above minus 42 degree Celsiuss, but the temperature of processor was about minus 30 degree Celsiuss, This is completely good, taking into account the presence of four cores and raised vcore by 32%. Processor has the coldbug at the temperature below minus 140 degree Celsiuss. Monitoring on the motherboard correctly showed the temperature up to minus 127 degree Celsiuss.  Several times was necessary to add nitrogen from the container , the overclock of processor was equal to the frequency of 4311 MHz, in this case the supply voltage was advanced in BIOS to the maximum value (1.80 v). Memory operated at the frequency of 1066 MHz with the latency 5-5-5-17 with the volatge 2.35 v. the asynchronous work of memory was possible due to the abilities of chipset NVIDIA. As a whole the system has good result without overclock of video card witch gave 12 507 marks in 3DMark 06 and 58 000 marks in 3DMark 2001 SE. CPU test in 3DMark 06 has the value of 6310 marks that exceeds the accessible for the dual core processors indices. In Everest v.3.00.630 in the test CPU queen the system collected 13 636 points. But the calculation of the number pi with 1 mb was produced in 12.391 seconds. The test Of cinebench 2003 in the multiprocessor regime was passed in 14.7 seconds. Unfortunately, it could not passe the validation result CPU- Z, since results were taken from the version of utility 1.37.   Related Products :
