The Prices of pineview processors will be available in fourth January, when begin the sales of first systems on base of atom processors new generation. Currently, Intel transfer only fundamental characteristic of pineview: all processors operate at 1.66 GHz frequency, the single core model atom n450 is intended for netbook, single core Atom d410 is ready to become base for inexpensive nettop, and the high end model is the dual core Atom d510. With chipset Intel NM10 these processors form TDP level not more 7 W (N450), 12 W (D410) and 15 W (D510), respectively. To each core, there is 512 KB cache in the second level, DDR 2-667/800 memory is supported . TDP of processors is equal to 5.5 W (N450), 10 W (D410) and 13 W (D510).
The transfer of memory controller and graphic core in the processor allow to decrease the quantity of microcircuits from two to one. In turn, this allows to decrease the area of the motherboard by 60% for netbook, and by 70% for nettop. The average energy consumption level was reduced by 20% for netbook and by 50% for nettop.
The first tests of netbook asus eee PC 1005PE on base of atom n450 processor (1.66 GHz) with 1 Gb memory and 250 Gb HDD (5400 rp/min ) showed that pineview processor does not ensure some noticeable advantage in speed in comparison with its predecessor, but it substantially requires less power.
