In the beginning of this year Intel company clearly gave noted that the sensational project larrabee will appear only after the production of knights corner, which contain 50 computational core, produced on 22 nm technology . Currently Larrabee is proposed only to software developers in the form of 32 nm product with 32 nm core knights ferry.
On IDF 2010 Intel representatives demonstrated the work of four servers on base Of knights ferry, which in real time rendered scene from wolfenstein game using rays tracing with the speed from 40 to 50 frames per second with 1280 X 720 pixels resolution. The processed picture was transferred to notebook by the gigabit net interface.
Rays tracing create realistic refractions and objects reflections on the glass and mirror surfaces. Unfortunately, for constructing realistic scenes in real time this method requires large computational resources.
