Samsung announced the finalization of RDIMM DDR3 memory modules , intended for use in energy-efficient servers that can operate at 1.25 volts. Development refers to the initiative Green Memory.
The new modules are based on chips with 4 Gb produced on 30-nm class. 16GB Module consumes less than 3.7 watts of power. According to Samsung, energy savings is 15% compared with energy-efficient modules 1.35v RDIMM, which use chips of 30 nm-class, and up to 60% when compared with the same memory of past generation (40 nm). Samsung will begin mass production of modules with 4, 8 and 16 GB . Related Products :
