OCZ Technology company today introduced a new series of solid state drives Octane, which will include a terabyte model and form factor 2.5 .
Octane series is based on Indilinx controllers , supporting SATA-600 interface. Reading speed can reach 560 MB / s and writing spped 400 MB / sec. Read speed (4 KB) is equal to 45 000 IO per second.
OCZ also produced a series of drives Octane-S2, supporting only SATA-300. They provide a read speed of successive data blocks at 275 MB / s write speed - at 265 Mbytes / sec. Speed reading arbitrary data in blocks of 4 KB is equal to 30 000 IO per second. Both versions support AES encryption algorithm, , as well as a range of proprietary technologies that increase the resource of solid state memory. Drives are built on 25 nm memory manufacturing Intel-Micron and 512 MB DRAM memory buffer .
Octane will appear on sale in November, it will be offered in model from 128 GB to 1 TB. The cost per gigabyte will be very in the range of $ 1.1-1.3. Related Products :
