Implicitly, AMD has decided to oppose the announcement of server processors Intel Xeon with its hybrid generation processors Trinity , which are intended for use in laptops.
Trinity processors combine computing cores (two or four) with Piledriver architecture and graphics generation Northern Islands (VLIW4) with support for DirectX 11.  In the maximum configuration , this graphics system has 384 stream processors.  On a monolithic chip, released on 32 nm technology, are located 1.303 billion transistors. Trinity core area is 246 square millimeters  - more than its predecessor Llano (228 sq. mm).  Ivy Bridge processors in quad versions have a 160 mm ² die size and contain 1.4 billion transistors.
Turbo Core 3.0 technology allow to dynamically overclock both core computing and graphics.  Trinity processors Socket FS1 revision 2 supports dual channel DDR3-1600, TDP value not more than 35W.  Processors with low power consumption Socket FP2 supports  DDR3-1333 Memory and are characterized by TDP value not more than 17 or 25 watts, depending on the model.  The characteristics of mobile processors introduced today Trinity are as follows:
- A10-4600M -> Radeon HD 7660G, four core, frequency 2.3 / 3.2 GHz, 4 MB second cache level, 384 stream processors, frequency of graphics system 497/686 MHz, Socket FS1;
- A8-4500M -> Radeon HD 7640G, four core, frequency 1.9 / 2.8 GHz, 4 MB second cache level, 256 stream processors, frequency of graphics system 497/655 MHz, Â Socket FS1;
- A6-4400M -> Radeon HD 7520G, two core, frequency 2.7 / 3.2 GHz, 1 MB second cache level, 192 stream processors, frequency of graphics system 497/686 MHz, Socket FS1;
- A10-4655M -> Radeon HD 7620G, four core, frequency 2.0 / 2.8 GHz, 4 MB second cache level, 384 stream processors, frequency of graphics system 360/497 MHz, Socket FP, TDP not exceeding 25W;
- A6-4455M -> Radeon HD 7500G, two core, frequency 2.1 / 2.6 GHz, 2 MB second cache level, 256 stream processors, frequency of graphics system 327/424 MHz, Socket FP, TDP not more than 17 w
The last two models are targeted for use in ultrathin laptops, which will compete with ultrabook based on Intel processor . Â At rest the laptop on Trinity processor is able to work up to 12 hours on a single battery charge. Â
