OCZ company demonstrated the new SSDs models , controllers based on Kilimanjaro.
The drive are based on expansion card with PCI Express 3.0 x8 interface, which provides enormous bandwidth. The product is called Z-Drive R5 and 16 combines controllers Kilimanjaro, each has access to its own set of flash memory chips and is connected to a common controller, PCI Express 2.0.
The claimed amount of I / Os per second (IOPS) when working with random blocks of 4 Kbytes is 800,000, but after numerous demonstrations the drive was able to provide only 570,000 IOPS. For serial data throughput is greater than 2 Gbytes / sec.
