At the press conference in Tokyo , AMD company reported today some components about its new notebook platform . Puma ( this is the new platform code name ) promises improvements for mobile PC in the form of optimized video system , longer operation time and increased operating speed .  The important new future in puma is the new generation mobile processor griffin, which will work on chipset RS780. The optimized hyperTransport system bus and memory controller in Griffin will allow to dynamically change the system performance and also use the new, more energy-effective processor operation modes, minimizing energy consumption. Chipset RS780, in its turn, will introduce the improved video system and the increased system operating speed . This will be achieved with video core directX 10 compatible, Unified video decoder, south bridge support NAND flash- memory and HyperFlash, Their also possibility to use several monitors ( DVI, HDMI DisplayPort), This chipset support system bus PCI express 2 and HyperTransport 3.0. On 22 May , AMD will present puma . First notebook based on this new platform will be released in the middle of 2008. Related Products : | ||
