In the third quarter 2012 were sold 427.7 million mobile phones, as counted agency experts Gartner. Analysts note that this value is 3.1% less compared to the same period last year, when sales reached 441.5 million units.
The largest manufacturer of phones are Samsung company , which accounts for 98 million units or 22.9% of the total. Finnish Nokia was placed in the second position, but in the last year the company's share fell from 23.9% to 19.2%. Third place for Apple with 23.6 million sold iPhone.

Smart phones have become very popular. Almost 40%, or 169.2 million , from all mobile phones shares were smartphone, a year ago the number of smartphones sold totaled 115.2 million.
