The Swedish telecommunications equipment manufacturer Ericsson has sent to the Commission U.S. International Trade (ITC) request to ban imports of South Korea's Samsung products.
Ericsson Request, states that the products listed violated patents owned by Ericsson.
Request for import ban is part of the process. Import ban is not our goal. Our goal - to sign license agreements with Samsung on reasonable terms .
In the last two years, the company tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a renewal license, including patents for the development of Ericsson in wireless networks, which have become part of the standards.
According to Samsung, Ericsson asked too high royalties for patents FRAND, which had already been included in the contract previously existing between the parties.
