In 2015 is expected explosive growth of the market for wireless charging solutions. The rate of penetration of wireless charging in the segment of consumer electronics and computers are growing.
The General Director- of Taiwan division Texas Instruments Luke Lee spoke about the prospects of the market of wireless charging technology. According to him, the expansion of the range of supply voltages for low-power devices 0-15 to 0-20 watts, and for devices with high capacity of up to 20-100 Watt allow next year to cover this technology more products. According to forecasts of top managers, in 2015 the market devices with a wireless charging, as well as associated with this technology
chipsets will continue to grow at a steady pace.
One of the promising directions Luke Lee believes the introduction of wireless technology, charging laptops. Of course, the cost of modules to charge without wires still remains high, but such a feature is an attractive feature of expensive and relatively heavy laptops. According to him, the wireless charging feature can be added to the dock, which are equipped with some business laptops.
Another potential application segment for wireless charging is the car market. Already, some automakers in Europe began implementing wireless solutions for charging hybrid and electric vehicles, the popularity of which is gradually increasing.
Luke Lee also said that the main problem for chip vendors in the market of wireless charging is still too high cost of these units and the fact that they are "too heavy" for device manufacturers. But now manufacturers are able to simplify the external discrete components to create advanced SoC-solutions to improve the efficiency of charge without wires.
