Processors manufacturer MediaTek announced that in the world last year, has sold about 400 million smartphones MediaTek processors on board. And this year it expects to sell even more chips, including the Helio series.
MediaTek CFO David Koo reported that in the fourth quarter 2015 Helio chips accounted for between 8 and 10% of total shipments MediaTek chips. Helio X10 is already widespread, and recently the company began Helio P10 delivery to its customers. The first smartphones based on Helio P10 will appear on the market before the end of the first quarter 2016. Deliveries Helio P20, manufactured on 16-nanometer process technology, will begin in the second half of the year, and Helio X30 manufacturers will receive either late 2016 or early 2017.
Also, David Ku said that about 40-45 million tablets MediaTek processors were sold last year. Presumably, this was achieved through Amazon.
MediaTek is going to continue to increase shipments of its chips. Thus, according to forecasts of management, in 2016 the share of Helio processors in the total supply will reach 20%.
Also, the publication Fudzilla reported that Helio P20 will include eight main core Cortex-A53. It will run at a clock frequency of 2.3 GHz and, like its predecessor, will be supported cameras with resolutions up to 24 megapixels, a screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and LTE Cat.6. The new processor in comparison with its predecessor will have a higher performance and long battery life.
