Qualcomm company ,whose relations with the Chinese smartphones manufacturers and authorities can hardly be called simple, this week announced a joint with the authorities of the Chinese province of Guizhou venture that will develop and sell the processors to the server application using ARM architecture .
In a joint venture Guizhou Huaxintong Semi-Conductor Technology Co., Ltd. division of the American corporation will own a 45% stake, the remaining 55% will go to the authorities of Guizhou Province. The amount of capital at the initial stage of the joint venture will reach $ 280 million. Qualcomm has 20 years of cooperating with Chinese partners, and the emergence of a joint venture in the second-largest market for server hardware proves the existence of the American developer of processors strategic plans for business development in China. Along the way, it will create an investment company, which will raise funds for other similar projects.
Qualcomm will not only provide a license to use its processor architecture, but also will help the Chinese develop processors. Chinese telecom operators in the region are planning to build a cluster of 2.5 million Servers using renewable energy sources.
