Situation with NVIDIA 65 nm video chip can confuse users. For example, on base of g92 chip are released video card geForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GTS 512 mb, and soon will appear the GeForce 9800 GTX and GeForce 9800 GX2. There were no formal bases for changing the generations names in this case : in GeForce 9800 video cards the g92 chips remained absolutely the same, as it was in video cards GeForce 8800. Difference consist only in the support to hybrid power technology.
The appearance of 65 nm chip g98 (D8M) confuses even more . Improvements in the frequency characteristics did not occur, and all what could propose the video cards geForce 8400 GS (new 65 nm chip g98) - is a decrease in the energy consumption level and PCI express 2.0 support. Asus company released video card geForce 8400 GS on base of 65 nm g98 chip and decided to separately mention about the PCI express 2.0 support .  Here is the video card EN8400GS SILENT/HTP/512M with noiseless cooling system.  Compatibility with the new interface is mentioned on the box face side.  Asus EN8400GS TOP/HTP/128M support hybrid SLI technology , which allow to unite simultaneously the discrete and integrated video card in games. Related Products : | ||
