At IDF 2016, Intel August meeting showed samples of notebooks based on Kaby Lake generation processors, as well as once again confirmed that it already provides its customers these processors. It is known that 14-nm processors Kaby Lake will be only slightly improved version skylake, and therefore do not have to wait for significant changes in their characteristics. Colleagues from site NotebookCheck, however, argue that in the line of mobile processors Kaby Lake with TDP level not more than 15 watts will be models with four cores, which had not previously been seen. True, this will happen only in 2017.
These processors will be equipped with Intel HD Graphics graphics subsystem baseline, but the processors with graphics Kaby Lake Iris level family Kaby Lake-U processors will be equipped with only two cores. Moreover, TDP value for them to be extended up to 28 watts.
The family of mobile processors Kaby Lake-H will be offered, and dual-core processors with Intel HD Graphics graphics, different TDP value not more than 18 watts. Typically, this family of CPUs have a TDP of 35 to 45 watts. The appearance of such alternatives will create more subtle and productive laptops.
