Processors Skylake-X will receive up to ten cores, support for four-channel DDR4 memory type and 44 lines PCI Express 3.0. A set of functional features Kaby Lake-X will be much more modest: four cores, two channels for memory and only 16 lines PCI Express 3.0. Common characteristics for them will be only the presence of a free multiplier and the ability to work in a motherboard with socket LGA 2066. The latter, incidentally, will be based on Intel X299.
Intel has intentions to present processors Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X in the third quarter of next year. It is expected that this will happen in August, at the Gamescom event in 2017.
The rest of the note is dedicated to Intel's plans to introduce desktop processors Kaby Lake in early January 2017. Shipments of processors are already being implemented. The range presented at CES 2017 processors Kaby Lake-S and Kaby Lake-K also mentioned: Core i7-7700K / 7700, Core i5-7600K / 7600/7500, Core i3-7320 / 7300/7100, Pentium G4620 / 4500/4560, Celeron G3950 / 3930 and Core i7-7700T.
