AMD in January 24, 2017 asked the US International Trade Commission (ITC) to investigate the theft of a number of technologies from LG company, MediaTek, VIZIO and Sigma. According to AMD opinion, these companies do not legitimately use the AMD patented developments in the field of graphics architectures.
According to AMD's request, the defendants violated the company's patent numbered 7,633,506 ( '506 patent), 7,796,133 (' 133 patent) and 8,760,454 ( '454 patent). The patent '506 describes a computational graphics architecture that allows you to handle in the frame buffer a large amount of data. Patent '133 relates to the treatment GPU texture, and the patent' 454 - is to work with unified shaders. All of these technologies have been illegally used to create graphics solutions for smartphones and televisions.
AMD has complained that the time and money has been spent on the creation of technologies mentioned above.
